Katherine Ward

(ARAD RTS, RTS Teachers Diploma, Cecchetti International Classical Ballet) - Ballet, Jazz and Modern

A professional dancer and assistant Dance Teacher from age 14, Miss Katherine considers her great privilege is to teach the joy and beauty of dance. 

Miss Katherine studied Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theatre and Tap at the Jan Cheshire School of Ballet in Elanora Heights and later at the Mary Geer Academy of Dance, gained Advanced Certificates in Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern Dance. 

Awarded Distinction in  the Royal Academy of Dance Teachers' Certificate and Teachers' Diploma under the direction of Prudence Bowen, 

Miss Katherine has mentored  for the Royal Academy of Dance Teachers' Certificate  as well as for International Ballerina Felicity Hader, Australia's first recipient of the  Professional Dancers' Post Graduate Teachers Certificate.

Miss Katherine enjoys teaching and preparing students for RAD Grades, Higher  and Vocational Grades and Solo Performance Awards. Pupils have gained entrance into prestigious selective courses including Australian Ballet School and New Zealand School of Dance.

In 1997, Miss Katherine was auditioned by Gailene Stock and Jacqui Dumont and accepted into the Australian Ballet Schools' inaugural Teacher Training Programme in Melbourne.

During the course, she was taught by internationally renowned teacher Tanya Pearson and later invited to serve as adjudicator for her Full-time Ballet students.

Miss Katherine is an Associate of Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (London),  in 2018 was awarded the Licentiate with Cecchetti International Classical Ballet 

Inspired by the wonderful world of Dance competition performances, Miss Katherine enjoys adjudicating in regional NSW and is a Theatrical and Classical Ballet Judge for Crown International Dance and Dancesport Competition Melbourne.
